An integrated academic foundation
Medical education connects understanding of the human body with disease processes, clinical reasoning and professional responsibility. At HBU, the School of Basic Medical Sciences and School of Clinical Medicine are identified in the international Clinical Medicine program structure.
From classroom to clinical study
Students need both scientific understanding and the ability to communicate safely in clinical settings. Chinese-language development is therefore a practical part of preparation for the Chinese-taught Clinical Medicine pathway.
Supervised practical education
Existing international Clinical Medicine students undertake a structured internship stage. Preparation includes rotation arrangements, attendance rules, graduation assessment, clinical operating standards, occupational protection and patient safety.
A professional pathway
Graduation and permission to practise are separate stages. Students should plan early for the medical registration and examination requirements of the country in which they intend to work.
